Here is the picture which I designed, and it is about the knowledge of atom that we have learned.

I chose the nitrogen atom as a base, N atom’s atomic number is 7 which means it has seven electrons, seven protons and seven neutrons.

According to Rutherford’s nuclear atomic model, the middle of the atom is composed of protons and neutrons (which is also called neutron), and electrons(-) are located around the protons and neutrons. In this picture I represent the protons and neutrons as balloons and lovers. As you can see in the picture, man has balloons which are written ‘o’ this represents neutrons with no charge, the number of balloons represents the number of neutrons (7 neutrons) in the Nitrogen atom. Therefore, woman has balloons which are written ‘+’, it represents the protons with positive charge, same as the man, the number of balloons woman has is the number of protons (7 protons) in the atom.

According to the Bohr’s model, electrons are moving around at its own shell, and this is also same in the nitrogen atom, 7 electrons are moving around at their shells. And I represent those as my style, on the white shirts; around the lovers there are two shells in which N’selectrons are arrangedas1s22s22p3.According to the arrangement of electrons, at first shell there are 2 electrons and at second shell there are 5 electrons, also I designed and put patterns on it in every electron.

[RIGHT SIDE]

N represents the nitrogen atom and N-represents a special negative particle.

*Comparing size of the N and N-

Nitrogen anion means N gains electrons, as                it gains electrons, electron clouds got bigger which means its size also got bigger.

So, the picture here represents N-is bigger than N.

In order to make it looks nice I express those with symbols, “

[LEFT SIDE]

I represent the N as a noble gas notation.

N’s electron configuration is 1s22s22p3. Next step is to find the element which is at upper line and in 18group-He. As a result, its noble gas notation is [He]2s22p3since 1s2is replaced by He

In white empty t-shirt I put N and He at different position to show their location in periodic table.

[BACK]

Back side is about the Periodic Table, I designed as a galaxy with planets.

Size of the planets is same as size of elements shows in periodic table. From top to bottom size of atoms is getting bigger because of increasing energy level and weaker attraction, and as you go right to left the size of atoms is getting smaller because of increasing number of protons, stronger nuclear charge, stronger attraction.

And from top to bottom, planets have different number of orbitals, this represents that the number of energy level are getting increase as you are going down, moreover, just like the arrangement of periodic table, planets which are in the same line(period) has a same number of energy level so planets in each line has different number of energy level.

Yellow line refers to zig-zag line. The elements(metal) that are left side of the zig-zag line are softer than the elements that are in the right side, in order to represent this, I drew white crack on the left side of it (zig-zag line).

Planets has different styles like patterns, colors etc.. and same as the orbitals.

The design comes from atomic models, atomic symbols, and atomic orbital notation.

The pattern design on the front of the clothes combines the pattern of atomic orbital arrangement learned in this semester and the atomic symbol of hydrogen element in the periodic table. On the back of the clothing, the figure appears to be controlling the atomic model, implying that we have mastered some of the atomic learning in the course of the semester

The overall color is mainly black and white gold, presenting a simple style

The design is based on the chemistry knowledge learned in this semester. Although the knowledge involved is only the tip of the iceberg, it also reflects the interesting nature of chemistry

Noble gases refer to the elemental substances corresponding to all 18thgroupelements on the periodic table, also known as noble gases. At room temperature and pressure, they are colorless, odorless, monatomic gases that are difficult to react with. In modern society, many young people do nothing, have no sense of time, and do not participate in social activities, just like these inert gases. This handbag is not only a chemical element, but also represents the concept of modern youth laziness

Overview of Clothing concept

Firstly, I chose a T-shirt to be my original pattern. Because T-shirt is convenient to design.

At first, I was thinking that the most iconic thing in chemistry is the periodic table, and I could show it all on my clothes. But if only a few elements lined clothes, isn't there no any design?

Then I wondered if I could make a pattern and fill it with elements. And then I started thinking about when I was a kid, when you think about chemistry, you think about the big bang. Let's make the elements look like a big bang.

This T-shirt is based on a monotonous white cotton short sleeve, on which I selectively add some important chemical knowledge points I have learned this semester. (drawn with marker) fully shows the chemical elements of this T-shirt. Colors are presented in the form of clashing colors. Its front and back are just not the same color, reflect the visual impact. Clothing is designed by breaking down chemical knowledge points and stitching them together again, so that each part of the clothing is a complete and independent individual, which can be taken out and re-matched to achieve different effects. The overall simplicity, smooth lines, diagrams and various atomic models.

This is my T-shirt. The color is white. On the front, I designed an atomic structure, and then painted it on it, using red and yellow colors to replace the atomic nucleus.

Then, this picture is the back of the T-shirt I designed. Through my study last semester, I learned the elements on the periodic table of elements, so I thought about it, and then painted it on the top after changes. The reason for his design is to hope not to forget these elements.
