初中课程到底是一种怎样的体验？

体验穿着白大褂像科学家那样研究的感觉？

体验戴上护目镜和手套与机器打交道的感觉？

体验15人分小组上课的感觉？

体验用除英语以外的第三种语言互动的感觉？

体验用iPad互相拍照的感觉？

体验用计算机来解决问题的感觉？

What is the Middle School curriculum experience like? Is it the feeling of wearing a white coat and studying like a scientist? Is it the feeling of wearing goggles and gloves and interacting with machines? Is it the feeling of attending classes in groups of 15? Is it the feeling of interacting with each other in a third language other than English? Is it the feeling of taking pictures of each other with an iPad? Is it the feeling of using a computer to solve problems?

理化操作体验:化学红绿灯

靛蓝胭脂红是一种氧化还原剂，可以在不同的氧化还原状态下呈现不同颜色。在氧化还原反应和PH值的作用下，它可以变幻出多种颜色。当我们不断振摇瓶子时，它会被空气中氧气氧化，而在静止时又被葡萄糖还原，因此在绿、黄、红之间切换，犹如交通红绿灯。

The experience of physical and chemical reactions: indigo carmine, erythrosine, and fluorescein are redox indicators that can exhibit different colors under different oxidation states and pH values. Redox reactions and pH values can change into multiple colours. Continuously shaking the bottle causes the reagents to be oxidized by the oxygen in the air. When the reaction vessel is at rest, glucose levels drop, causing the solution to switch between green, yellow, and red, like traffic lights.

生命科学体验:一花一世界

被子植物的花，作为植物重要的繁殖器官，承载了发育果实和形成种子的重要职责。通过对花的细致解剖，将花柄、花托、花萼、花冠、雄蕊、雌蕊……各个部分逐一展现，通过拓染进一步感受花的香味、纹理、色彩，揭示花朵不为人知的一面。

The life sciences experience: An important reproductive organ in plants, the flower of each angiosperm carries the important responsibilities of developing fruit and forming seeds. Through a meticulous dissection of the flower, each part, such as the peduncle, receptacle, sepals, petals, stamens, and pistils, is presented one by one. The fragrance, texture, and colour of the flower are explored using tracing paper, revealing the unknown side of the flower.

DT课程体验：创意制作

用不同的机器和工具来让脑海中的创意落地化为实物，同时学会安全地使用各种工具。细心和耐心在DT课堂同时成长，创造力和专注力在DT课堂同时激发。

The design and technology (D&T) experience: Creative production uses different machines and tools to bring our ideas into existence, while learning to use various tools safely. Attention to detail and patience are key skills which are developed in the D&T classroom, while creativity and concentration are encouraged at the same time.

分层英语体验：职业梦想

带着小学打下的英语基础，和初中部的中外教就“职业梦想”进行交流与互动。在小学小班化的基础上再进行分组教学，从而进一步提高英语课堂的互动性与合作性。

The experience of layered English: With a strong foundation in English established in our primary school, students are able to interact with Chinese and foreign teachers in the Middle School on the topic of "Career Dreams". Based on the small-class teaching in primary school, students knowledge is gently challenged and encouraged to grow through the interactivity and collaboration of group teaching in the English classroom.

法语学习体验：游戏与歌曲

在初中部法语老师的精心设计下，学生被老师的亲和力所吸引，被游戏和歌曲激发出好奇，回家后用法语向家长问好，一定会给家长带来不小的惊喜。

The experience of learning French: Under the careful design of the Middle School French teacher, games and songs are used to inspire curiosity. Saying hello to parents in French at home will surely be a welcome surprise.

iPad摄影体验：游戏与歌曲

作为初中部的特色CCA课程之一，“手机(iPad)摄影”能让学生爱上光影，在成长的道路上像手机功能那样全面发展，既有计算摄影的速度和精准，又有智能手机无法替代的自主思考与创意。

The experience of iPad photography: Light, shadow and beauty are explored as one of the distinctive CCA courses in the Middle School. "Mobile Phone / iPad Photography" makes students fall in love with light and shadow, unlocks knowledge of how to further use iPads and mobile phones creatively, and pushes students towards independent thinking.

计算机科学体验：解决问题

计算机科学对人类生活的影响积极、广泛而深远，在这一方面，没有任何技术可以与之匹敌。计算机的美妙之处并不在于其闪烁的灯光、旋转的磁盘、成排的芯片和电线，而在于，这些部件的背后隐藏着一个优雅而简单的想法——解决问题，改善生活。

Experience in computer science: The positive, extensive, and profound impact of computer science on human life is unmatched by any technology. The beauty of computers does not lie in their flashing lights, spinning disks, rows of chips and wires, but in the elegant and simple purpose behind all these components – to solve problems and improve lives.

 初中体验课体验的结果是什么？是像科学家那样思考，是像设计师那样脑洞大开，是像演讲者那样滔滔不绝，是像终身学习者那样充满好奇，是像摄影师那样目光敏锐，是像程序员那样思维缜密。

What is the result of experiencing these courses in the Middle School? The result is thinking like a scientist, being imaginative like a designer, being articulate like a presenter, being curious like a lifelong learner, having sharp and discerning eyesight like a photographer, and having meticulous thinking like a programmer.

晚间寄宿体验中， G5的学生们分别参与了寝室参观和寄宿课程体验两场活动。在初中部学长学姐的带领下，孩子们不仅看到了整洁、舒适的居住环境，更感受到了温馨、和谐、有序的寄宿生活。而在戏剧体验课中，大家通过热身破冰、戏剧课程简介、表演元素练习等环节增进了对戏剧课程的感知，激发创意，丰富了想象力，提升了审美能力。一小时的体验虽不长，但通过聆听、观看、互动，孩子们切身感受到了寄宿不仅仅是在为离校较远的学生提供生活便捷，更是在通过课程、活动、文化来培育自身的综合能力，为未来的国际化发展奠定基础。

In the evening boarding experience, Grade 5 students participated in two activities: a dormitory visit and a boarding course experience. Under the guidance of the Middle School seniors, the students visited the dormitories and experienced all that dormitory life has to offer.

学生课程评价

我认为这节课很有趣，放松。我们用了3D打印笔画了不同的图案，自己设计，制作。外教老师用了十分幽默的语言把本节课的主题一次次提示，让我们猜想主题。这节课的互动性也很强，老师讲完步骤后就可以自己开始制作啦。我们根据自己设计选择图案，颜色，大小来制作。两位中外教也在一旁全程辅导，帮助我们完成项目。我学习到了美术的几大步骤：先设计，再找问题，思考解决问题，实行，改进。虽然只有短暂的一节课，学习的内容也不多，但还是依旧很有趣。每一个步骤对我来说都有很大的乐趣。我想有更多时间，Mr. NIcolaas也会带领我们一起探索奇妙的美术王国！Mr. Nicolaas将会是位十分有耐心且有能力的带领者。                                   

5A 陆炫颖 Coco

在生命科学的课堂上，马老师教了我们一些关于花的知识，比如花柄的英语叫’peduncle’， 花瓣叫”petal’, 而且雄花和雌花也有区别，雄花有花药和花丝而雌花有花柱，胚珠和子房。

此外，我们还做了花朵的解剖和拓染。拓染时，要注意用锤子慢慢敲，不然把花敲烂了颜色就变棕了。解剖时，要先把花瓣取下来，然后再取下花萼和花蕊，最后粘在纸上，这样一个简易的解剖图就做好了。

5A 薛辰汐 Cici

我以前学过一些编程软件，比如Devid C++,scratch,python。我原本想今年暑假再入门一下Java。而今天，我真正学到了Java。Sushil老师今天不仅教授了我们Java的头文件,函数和变量，还给我们讲述了电脑和手机的各种硬软件。Sushil老师今天还教我们用Java编出了一个有趣的小游戏，它可以用来写字和画图。真是有趣且充实的一节课啊！

5C 王忠旸 Boss

法语这门体验课非常富有知识。在Ms Alice的带领下，我们学习了许多从未见过的法语单词，在唱歌与跳舞中领略法语的乐趣。Ms Alice也非常有耐心，我们无论是发音不标准，还是单词不会拼写，她都会耐心教导。课堂的流程也很好，让同学们在游戏中学习新单词、新句子……

5D罗望舒 Kitty

Sophia老师备课认真。PPT很美观，且含有许多动画，让同学们直观地理解英语单词；活动新鲜，小组合作、表演小游戏，加深同学们对单词的记忆。老师上课风趣，引导同学表达，鼓励、奖励回答问题的同学；上课内容——职业，也贴近生活。总体而言，课程没有刷题或练习课那么枯燥，以任何学生都能接受的风格教授知识，与我想象中的课程截然不同。

5C 王毓诚George 

这节课不仅让我们知道了初中有手机摄影这个CCA项目，还让我们知道了十九个拍照口诀，有六个是细讲的，分别是拿，捏，探，搭，回，靠。后来还让我们用这六个字帮好朋友拍照片。老师又帮我们挑选了几张拍得好的照片，和我们讲述问题，比如说：拍照时用什么姿势，怎么正确使用这六个口决等。它没有像数学那样有固定答案，而是根据自己的心情拍照。总体来说这节摄影课还是非常实用而且很有意义的，老师讲得很认真，所以大家到了初中有兴趣的报一报这个CCA的。

5C 闵添宸 Issac

This class we learned about Art,3D pen. We learnt some important steps and things for making a key ring. I think it’s easy at first, but I found out it’s hard and difficult. You need to control it very carefully or you may even hurt yourself. There were many high technological  machines in the classroom for making things . But all in one sentence, I think this class was valuable, it’s creative and interesting. Well, I was interested in this class  whether you are interested or not.

5B 陈乐昕 Emma

摄影课别开生面，真有趣！彭老师首先让我们欣赏了一些摄影社团成员的作品，然后教我们六字口诀：拿、框、探、搭、回和靠等技法，我们了解了一些拍照技巧，之后，好朋友两两一组，互相拍照，太开心了！我们在古宅里有的回头倾城一笑，有的在不同形状的框里故作高深状，有的采用刚学到的新技法，拍出与众不同的效果……当照片打印出来后，我们相互为对方喝彩。我们都非常喜欢摄影课！
