剧院里上演的每一出戏背后都凝聚了不同演员的努力。在多数情况下，每一场表演呈现的效果取决于所有演员合力的表现。一场演出的成功，离不开每一位演员新颖的创意和精湛的演技。
Theatre is a collaboration of different players and in many cases the quality of any performance relies on an ensemble performance. Combining the creative ideas and the abilities of all participants is required for the best outcomes.
常州威雅学生排练话剧中
在常州威雅，八、九年级的中学生可以选修“电影制作”这门课外课程，从而体验戏剧表演从台前到幕后的全过程。在这里，他们可以大开脑洞，提出天马行空的创意，学习制作舞台表演的道具，为即将在6月20日至24日上演的大戏《爱丽丝梦游仙境》做准备。
This is what is occurring during our Production Crew ECA for year 9 and 10. Students have been given the opportunity to be creative, learn how to make props and actually creating the final product, which will be used for our Alice in Wonderland Production on June the 20th to 24th.
到目前为止，我们已经制作了一些巨型蘑菇和花朵，精心装饰了大戏要用的帽子，设计了表演戏服。“电影制作”课外课程锻炼了学生的问题解决能力，也教会了他们在与人交往时要有同理心和包容度。
So far we have made some gigantic mushrooms and flowers and elaborately decorated hats for the set and costume design. The entire journey has helped our students to problem solve and has encouraged them to show compassion and tolerance for others.
步入第二学期后，选修“电影制作”的学生人数一直在不断增加。学生们意识到，即使他们不参与戏剧表演，仍然可以以道具设计者和幕后工作人员的身份参与常州威雅的戏剧制作过程。学生们发现，即使是在幕后工作，也可以为舞台创造魔法，为观众们打造超现实的观剧体验。
Our numbers in Term 2 have grown as students have realised that they still could be a part of the Wycombe Abbey’s Drama production without being performers but set designers and backstage crew. They have learnt that they can work behind the scenes and make the magic happen on stage, creating a surreal experience for the audience.
令人兴奋的是，我们的电影制作任务已经进程过半了。剧院内被漆成了黑色，布景屏也已就位。接下来，我们就要着手设计和装饰任务，完成舞台布景。
We are now mid-way to the production and the excitement is hypnotic, our theatre has been painted black and our flats have arrived. We will now prepare to design and decorate these to complete our scenography.
到第三学期，我们需要完成40个蘑菇道具的制作和上色任务，装饰并设计布景屏。常州威雅的电影制作小组非常了不起，为了按时完成所有准备工作，学生们都兢兢业业、一丝不苟。对于即将到来的表演周，我们都激动不已。
In term three we aim to have all 40 mushrooms made and painted, flats decorated and designed. The Production Crew has been phenomenal and worked responsibly to meet the production deadlines. We are feeling excitement the coming performance week draws nearer.
