近期，德闳表演艺术负责人Mr. Aled Roberts为中、小学部的师生带来了一场非常特别的活动。他邀请到了在上海地区非常有名的珍珠剧场王牌摇滚乐队Red Stars为大家带来了震撼人心的演出。

结合近期的音乐学习主题，乐队以十年为一个单元，精心挑选了近几十年内广为流传的经典歌曲如《I FEEL GOOD》，《WANNEBE》，《VIVA LA VIDA》，《BELIEVER》等。在乐队的倾情演绎下，大家仿佛在不同年代间穿梭，共同捕捉时代的记忆。

虽然学生不一定熟悉每首歌曲，但是都会情不自禁地追随音乐一起放声歌唱，跟着节拍舞动身体，沉浸当下。在音乐的世界里面，没有害羞，没有尴尬，大家都被美妙的音乐感染着，享受和沉醉其中。这就是音乐和表演传递的力量。

除了本次让人回味无穷的音乐演出，德闳每年都会为学生们举办不同类型的表演艺术活动，例如在今年年初的中华文化欢庆盛典会上，老师和孩子们载歌载舞，更好地了解和宣传了中国传统文化。（《中华文化欢庆盛会｜唱响中华经典，舞出民族精神》）

除了校内的活动，德闳的学生还有机会与姐妹校德威国际学校的老师和同学们一同参与多种多样的艺术活动。

如上海德闳和浦西德威共同举办的“MADD艺术节”，涵盖音乐、艺术、戏剧和舞蹈。在艺术和创新领域优秀的作家、艺术家、思想家的指导下，孩子们联谊互动，置身于双方共同打造的艺术空间，尽情演绎对艺术的理解。（《MADD艺术节 | 只有不断闳览博物，方可成为威凤祥麟》）

德威莎士比亚戏剧节上，我们共聚一堂，将莎士比亚戏剧等文艺复兴时期的文学作品与现代生活进行“混搭”，创作出新的戏剧。

通过亲身参与这些活动，学生对表演艺术可以有更直观的感受，也能学会更好地表达自己，促进自我的全面发展，从了解到爱上表演艺术。

在小学阶段的音乐教学中，我们会教授学生基本的音乐知识，打好基础，包括理解歌曲节奏、认识乐谱、演唱歌曲等等，逐步了解音乐的表现形式和特点，学会欣赏不同类型的音乐风格。通过相关的练习和活动，激发学生对于音乐学习的兴趣。

如音乐课堂上，围绕着“想象”这一主题，学生有机会通过音乐世界的镜头探索不同阶段的音乐风格。同时，从音乐内容中学生可以了解到不同时期、地区的文化和历史等。

中学阶段，我们会让学生接触更多的表演艺术形式，深入了解表演艺术史。通过沉浸式教学，培养学生的想象力和创造力，引导学生创造出属于自己的优秀作品。而在整个过程中，不管是创作还是表演，都会涉及到不同语言的应用，这些都可以帮助提升学生的学术能力及舞台表演能力。

艺术让学生更好地表达自己，也让他们学会聆听，学会感受，学会欣赏。在德闳，我们在保证同学们拥有扎实学科知识的同时，也会鼓励学生在艺术方面找到自己的天赋并发挥自己的特长。我们会持续为学生提供走进艺术世界的机会和平台，从而陶冶情操，养成良好的品质，树立正确的艺术观，提升他们的综合素养。

Music plays a crucial role during a child's growth. Learning of music can broaden students' horizons and develop their understanding and appreciation of arts. At Dehong, as part of holistic education, we are committed to providing students with excellent performing arts programme and creating nice campus culture full of arts. Apart from music classes, we encourage students to participate in a variety of musical activities and invite professional artists to bring students aural and visual carnival. Through these opportunities and platforms, we hope to stimulate students' interest, cultivate creativity, and enhance their ability to express, self-confidence, and sense of achievement.

This week, Mr. Aled Roberts, Head of Performing Arts, hosted a very special event for Elementary and Secondary School students. He invited Pearl’s Red Stars Rock Band, which is well known in Shanghai, to perform for us.

To go with the theme of exploring the world one decade at a time, the band performed 1 song from every decade, such as I Fell Good, Wannebe, Viva la Vida, and Believer. With the band's performance, it was as if we had travelled from one era to another, capturing the memories of the times together.

The students couldn't help singing along with the music and dancing to the beat. In the world of music, everyone was inspired and enthralled. This is the power and growth that music can bring to everyone.

In addition to this memorable musical performance, every year, Dehong organises different types of performing arts activities, such as the Celebration Chinese Cultural earlier this year, where teachers and children sang and danced. The Elementary School Music Soiree at the end of last year provided a stage for students to show their artistic ambitions and talents which will be nice records for us.（《Elementary School Musical Soiree》）

In addition to these activities organised by school, our students could participate in a variety of arts activities with teachers and students from our sister schools Dulwich College. The MADD Arts Festival, jointly organised by Dehong Shanghai and Dulwich Puxi, covers music, art, drama and dance. With the guidance of outstanding writers, artists, and theorists in this field, the students are immersed in an artistic space jointly created by both parties to express their understanding of the arts(《MADD Festival》). For Dulwich Shakespeare Festival, we come together to mix Renaissance literature, such as Shakespeare's plays, with modern life, to create new plays.

We hope to engage students in these activities so that they can have a more intuitive experience, learn to express themselves better, and move from learning to loving the performing arts.

In Elementary School, we teach basic musical knowledge, such as understanding song rhythms, recognising music scores, performing songs, etc. Students will gradually learn to understand the forms and characteristics of musical expression and appreciate different styles of music. Through relevant exercises and activities, students are stimulated in music.

From Middle School, we expose our students to a wider range of performing art such as music and drama, and provide an in-depth understanding of the history. Through immersion, students' imagination and creativity are nurtured to create their own outstanding works. And throughout the process, students will use different languages, which will help enhance students' academic and performing skills.

Arts allows us to express ourselves better and learn to listen, to feel, and to appreciate. At Dehong, we ensure that our students have a solid foundation of academic knowledge while encouraging them to explore their talents in the arts. We will continue to create more opportunities and platforms for students to get closer to arts, so that they can cultivate literacy, develop good qualities, establish a correct view of arts.
