01 PEA SEEDS PROJECTIn October, Grade 7 STEAM and IT classes conducted a joint investigation. The purpose of this investigation was to see if pea seeds germinate faster in darkness or with artificial light. Students used a software coding program (mind+) to turn LED lights on and off, in a box, for a certain amount of time during the day. They then compared seeds grown this way, to seeds grown in a box in complete darkness. It is hoped that students can start to think about sustainability in farming and electricity use through these lessons.

本月，IT和STEAM进行了一次跨学科融合探究——"智能种子萌芽观察箱"。针对种子萌芽速度这一问题，七年级的同学们积极探究，利用科技改良了种子萌芽的实验设计；同学们勇于尝试和创新，激发创造性思维。借助在IT课程中学习到的mind+编程知识、掌控板和LED灯的使用，提高了实验效能。通过该项目的设计体验，我们也希望同学们能够在可持续发展的背景下，进一步去思考未来农业、电力和科技之间的关系与发展。

02 PARENT WORKSHOP – IBLVanke School Pudong's Second MYP Parent Workshop took place on October 27th. Parents were introduced to the idea of Inquiry-based learning (IBL) and the process of IBL in the classroom and in the Middle Years Programme. During the workshop, Parents were also given opportunities to experience Inquiry-based learning in Mr. Gibson's Language Acquisition class.

10月27日下午，浦东万科学校举办了第二场MYP家长工作坊——“探究式学习”。在一个小时的分享、学习和讨论中，家长们了解到探究式学习及其如何推动课堂学习和中学项目的课程。在本次的家长工作坊中，家长们“重返校园”，在Mr. Gibson的语言习得课堂，亲自感受了探究式学习的真谛。

03 GRADE ASSEMBLYWeekly grade level assemblies, led by Head of Grades are great opportunities for students to gather together to hold exciting activities, share important messages and build connections and bonds with their cohort. This month, in Grade assemblies, we had some interesting discussions on the importance of communication and how to become effective communicators with the help of body languages.

在浦东万科学校中学部，各年级长组织同学们召开每周年级集会。借此契机，同学们聚在一起组织有趣的活动，分享重要的信息，彼此建立联结和默契。在本月的年级集会中，同学们围绕沟通的艺术展开了讨论，共同学习探讨肢体语言对沟通的积极作用。

04 SPORTS DAYVSP held its Annual Sports Day on October 21st. This year, students were teamed up with their classmates in a Multi-sports day which involved football, basketball and floorball. Students enjoyed themselves and had so much fun with their peers!

10月21日，浦东万科学校迎来了一年一度的运动会。在今年的运动会上，体育组的老师们为同学们设计了球类混合赛，其中包括折返跑、足球、篮球和曲棍球。同学们以班级为单位参赛，以年级为单位进行PK，在车轮战的赛制下一一比拼，最后积分最高的班级获胜。在复杂的规则下，赢得比赛的关键无疑是团队合作精神。同学们互相信任、通力合作，为彼此加油呐喊。秋日的暖阳里，汗水挥洒于田径场，友谊和畅快留在心间！

05 HUMANITIES FAIRThe Humanities Fair has always been the culminating event of Humanities Week. During the event, students gathered in the gym and gave presentations from their first Humanities unit of study. During the event, the gym was abuzz with excitement as middle school students eagerly sought out the attention of their peers, primary students, and teachers so that they could share all of the research they had been completing over past several weeks.

10月28日下午，人文周成果展—Humanities Fair在体育馆举行，中学部邀请了全校师生来参观他们的探究成果。各年级分别以古希腊、古罗马、文艺复新和大革命为主题，以小组为单位，通过展板和演说的形式，展示相关历史文化主题以及他们的探究新发现。同学们化身研究者、艺术家、策展人、演说家和彼此最好的观众，展现了他们的探究、表达和组织能力。在交流和分享中，同学们和历史对话，以梦为马。

The Student Council is a group of voluntary student leaders who represent the best interests of their fellow students, their teachers and the VSP school community. They serve as a vital link between the student body and the school administration. The Student Council meets regularly to discuss issues pertaining to student life at school, as well as ways to be involved in activities, events and initiatives that can promote well-being at VSP.

11月VSP将举行校级学生会选举。学生会是由学生志愿者组成并领导的组织，代表并维护学生、教师和浦东万科学校的共同利益，它是学生和学校关系的重要纽带。学生会定期召开会议，探讨学生校园生活相关问题;同时，就如何通过多元化的活动为VSP的不断发展献计献策。
